Run your own private WOW server

This little tutorial will be used for WoW 1.9.4. I will also link you to ALL the needed downloads for this also.

1st -> I know alot of people will be pist, but reinstall WoW, this is simple, and very effective if you have installed a hacked version of any WoW and cant seem to get anything right. However, for the few people that will be trying this for the 1st time, it is quite simple to go back in versions. If you have never used a hacked patch before, simply goto your "Data" folder and delete "patch.mpq". Then run the WoW repair tool. Once that is all said and done, you should now have gone back to the original version(for me it was 1.4.0, please note it might change depending on when you got your WoW).

2nd -> You should now have WoW all setup. The game should be fresh, now to get these updates. Simply use google or use the links I provide for the 1.9.0 full download.

3rd -> Now, Install those patches, after this WoW should be fresh and after you downloaded those updates and finished installing them should be 1.9.4.

4th -> It's time to get our 1.9.x hack patch, download it from this link:

5th -> Install the "Hack Patch"

6th -> Its time to get our WoW Emulation server. Go here and download it:

UWC 1.9.x Repack -> http://rapidshare.de/files/14857504/...1.9.x.rar.html

7th -> Once the download is complete, I would suggest extracting it somewhere, I placed mine on my desktop.

8th -> Once it has been extracted, go ahead and open the folder. You will come to two(2) other folders. They will be: CLIENT PART and UWC1.2B2-1.8.x-DarkProject. Open the "UWC1.2B2-1.8.x-DarkProject" folder. Once open, goto "DBUtilEx". It will tell you it is opening in exclusive mode and so on. Once it has been opened, its quite simple to operate. You will see Account Name, Password and so on. Fill out your desired "Account Name" and "Password". Now, its up to you, do you want to remain as a basic player, and hold no GM powers, or do you want to be an exclusive GM so you can do everything? I set mine to level 6. So, if you want full access to every GM function available, go ahead and click on "Player Level" and make it 6. It goes all the way to 10, but after 6, there is no higher, 6 is "Developer" so its even higher than GM's. After you have selected your level, go ahead and click on the "Commit" button.

9th -> Now, you should have your player information all setup. Now, goto the very bottom of the folder and find WoWEmu.reg. DO NOT REGISTER THIS FILE!!! Simply Right click it and "edit" it. For the ws_host= make sure it 127.0.0.1 and ws_port=8086.

10th -> Goto your WoW folder, where you have installed the hacked patch. There, you will see "realmlist.wtf" and "WoW473519". Open both of them with a text editor.

11th -> Edit the realmlist. I did mine like so and no matter what, its necessary.

set realmlist 127.0.0.1

12th -> Everything is almost complete. Go back to the WoWEmu folder and find the "maps" folder. Run the bat, let it do its thing. It can take up to 15-20 mins to complete the extraction.

13th -> Your ready to play!!!! Go ahead and fire up the "WoWEmu.exe" and let it load. Once it is done loading, goto your main WoW folder where the hacked patch was installed and run the "WoW Vivendi sucks Moose-Wang" icon. Simply login with the username/password you made.

just so you know Wolf, Blizzhackers got taken down on the net for a while by blizz because people in there were discussing how to crate private servers (i think)

I followed that last night, as I was waiting for stuff to download I noticed that some parts were slightly out of date. I can update it and repost it if you want wolfy, although I'm off out down the pub in a bit so I'll do it the morra.

Looks cool. Can't wait to try it out. Just one question though.. It looks like all the blizzard files are US ones? If so will that effect my EU version?

You're going to be running it locally so you won't need to log onto any region-specific servers.

This is how you connect ONLY if you already have the install discs for world of warcraft and don't want to download this big file:
2.If the game is already or not installed this will work anyway. When you install it will make automaticly an World of Warcraft folder in your C:/Programs, change this to another folder than C:/Programs before installing and choose to NOT make an shortcut on your deskop.
3.When installation is done DO NOT START WOW!!!
4.Download these patches and install:
If you have EU game you will need these:

It works with both the US and the EU versions.
Now just do as above, sign up for an account and sign up at the forum!
