I don't do AV software on my home PC at all. Up until recently where a friend that had sent me a load of files via MSN informed me they had a virus so I should check.

I downloaded NOD32 for 64bit Windows and have been remarkably impressed at how quick it scanned and how little system resources it actually uses. I may even pay for a copy now I was that impressed.

Incidentally, my PC was completely clean.

You need to turn off the services in the administration tools, though finding which service is for which add-on is a puzzle in itself.
