For the fridges, LG are good, but Samsung are better... at least according to the missus! Both companies are Korean, so she knows best. We are getting one of these bad boys in the next few weeks.

As for the Pioneer reccomendation made by Higgins, it is more a nod of agreement - Sharp screens are made by Pioneer :P

Pioneer, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, NEC and Hitachi/Fujitsu make their own screens - anybody else just repacks them. I am going for a nice 42" Samsung repck that I can buy in Korea for under 400 quid

As to BR players - the only real option on the market at the mo is the PS3 - it's the only one that is BR version 2.0 compatable that future disks will be using, standalone players will have problems with the features of future disks...

We have a smasung american style fridge thing, its plumbed in and has its own water/icemaking bit , filters the water too. More economical than a lot of normal fridge freezers too.

We have a samsung TV as well, mainly because of all the samsung monitors Ive ever bought (20+) Ive never had one fail.

Think its called Bordeaux or some such, black and shiny, nice picture.

Just clarify about the Kuro and Sharp, Pioneer hasn't license out that panel yet as far as i'm aware.

And Pboy, get a demo of the Kuro if you can, i'm sure someone down in london has one on demo. As soon as you see it in action the price becomes less of a problem.

It's the first TV that made HD look significantly different to SD for me, rather than an incramental one.

Havent got a hd player, but I would suggest that , at least until the format wars are over and the market settles down, PS3 will represent the best value for a blueray player.

Probably for the next 18 months or so.
