I was thinking about using some form of VOIP a little more, (*16yr old daughters can seriously damage your phone bill), anyone have any real results using VOIP setups for cheap calls? The contenders I can see atm are:

Skype pro: £1.50 a month and get free UK calls
Pros: trusted brand, not likely to rip you off, cheap really
Cons: don't use SIP so as far as I can see you have to have the PC on

Vonage: £7.99 a month and get free UK calls
Pros: trusted brand, not likely to rip you off, use SIP so can get a cheap VOIP SIP converter for a real phone
Cons: Monthly cost is a little high

voipdiscount.com: possibly free for the first 300 mins a week
Pros: use SIP so can get a cheap VOIP SIP converter for a real phone, possibly low cost
Cons: did a little googleing and there are a few horror stories from them, claiming they advertise free then charge you anyway etc...

If anyone can give any guidance it would be appreciated mushily!

I've dealth with Vonage at a business level before and they were very good. They know their stuff and you can get a lot of compatible equipment for their SIP services.

Vonage in the US and we get free calls to all 50 states, canada, Puerto Rico, Guam and half of europe, unlimited.
