Network HomePlugs

Anyone else use these? And how good are they at playing games/download speed wise?

Getting sick of wireless in games. Can't play any FPS smoothly online.

Used them once at a place I was doing some work. So quick and easy it was a dream. Unsure about games though. Should be a stable connection >10mb though so shouldn't have the dropping out of wireless.

Does it make me old that seeing the title of this thread just made me think of this?

A friend of mine uses them and has no problems unless you plug in a high powered item (electric drill, hoover etc) on the same circuit.

Can't see you drilling or hoovering whilst gaming though.

I tried NetGears 200 MB. Was ok i suppose, but I returned them as I was not totally satisfied.
And, at that price, they should do wonders imho

You can get some pretty interesting pieces of kit these days. What looks like homeplugs but one end of them has no ethernet socket as it's a wireless access point. So you can use your home power grid to increase your wireless range if you have to get the signal around a particularly awkward load bearing wall.

Well aslong as my ping doesn't shoot up to every few mins while playing FPS's and my download speeds are more like what I should be getting, then I'm happy.
