Indeed, here are the notes from testing:

Jedi get a bigger bat than everyone else, move faster than everyone else and can make other peoples bats more slower
Spies can cloak their bat but realise they are missing out on some things, smugglers get to deliver bats to people, while avoiding the BH bat that makes the ball go slower (but not slower than the jedi bat, as that would be unfair to the jedi bat).
Commandos and Officers now have a temporary exploding bat, which makes the ball split into lots of smaller balls which if not blocked will score 1/2 points.
Entertainers have a bat, which doesn't move.
Traders can make cool, new bats that are not as good as looted ones.

Think that pretty much sums it up?

You're forgetting the pilot bat, which is initially made completely awesome and exciting, then gets shat on in the "Rage of the Batees" expansion, and doesn't get any bat content added to it except for bat-related bugs?
