Well pretty much every released dvdrip out there today is either XviD or H.264 encoded. Theres a reason for it. It's simply that good

And along comes HD-DVD and blu ray, well they use H.264 as well, along with VC1 (windows media 9).

So I doubt there will be a problem viewing them

If there is, I've supplied links to both VLC's homepage and DL link to ffdshow which both decodes XviD and H.264.

Taggy what software do you use to make videos? I am quite getting into making boss movies in WoW..and feel Windows Movies player is a bit shit

I use Sony Video Vegas 7.
It's quite easy to get into as well.
From there on you can export the movie in lossless format of HuffYUV .avi file and so you can open it in VirtualDub or any other movie encoding program if you prefer
