was a nasty challenge i do believe he was going for the ball tho. However that doesnt excuse it

Wenger has retracted his statement and apologised (which is unusual for him) about asking for a lifetime ban.

In soccor is a broken leg as bad as say, a broken arm/torn cuff is as a pitcher?

Or is it common that people recover and go on to play again? At the same level as before.

Football.

As a bit of a baseball fan I wasn't aware that pitchers regularly proke their arm, the torn rotator is way more common than a serious break in football. Although there is a lot of footballers that break little bones in their feet. The metatarsal being a particular favourite.

When the bone is poking through the sock at a right angle, odds are he won't ever be at the same level again. He may be back, but it'll always be an issue now.

Looked like his foot was hanging off. I hope he'll be back because he's a hell of a player, I dont think he will though. Certainly career threatening.

I broke my leg playing Football (Not fucking soccer!) at 18.

I started playing again when I was around 20 - ive never been the same since. I used to be a bit of a robust midfielder trashing anyone who had the ball - now I back out of most tackles.

Its a psychological thing.

Shocking end result, but Ive seen worse tackles with lesser result. Although you wouldnt believe it, Footy is supposed to be a contact sport and accidents do happen.
A worse tackle (and intentional) was probs the Roy Keane/Alf Inge Haaland one from years ago tbh

I had a problem with my ankle very early on when i was about 11 or 12 was only fractured. However was always weaker than my other after that so playing football i used to wear a support alot, which in itself was bad as you become dependant upon it.

Took me a while to start playing without one again and had various niggling injuries on the same ankle afterwards. Funnily enough i think now thats it had a few years of rest and not constant impact on it from sport its actually alot better.

Im sure arsenal will do their very best to help rehabilitate eduardo though.

As bad as the end result of the tackle was, it was a freak accident.

The Sunday times has a couple of graphic photos, but it appears a case of being hit on his ankle just as his foot and studs dug in woth his full weight on that one leg, so instead of sliding with the impact, his studs dug in.

Bad, but one of those things unfortunetly.

The witch hunt for Taylor is rediculous in my view.

I thought Gallas behaved worse as a professional footballer.

Gallas was some real captain material right there. Not laughed that much in a while

Just to clarify, I said David Buust not for the tackle but the horrific injury itself.

I still think Chelsea will be in with a shout at the end of this season, they have been getting the results whilst all attention is on Man U and Arsenal.

As for Eduardo's career, Alan Smith was just as bad an injury against Liverpool, his bone sticking out and fott facing the wrong way, took him a year to get back.

Debateable if hes as good now of course, the standard wasnt that high to begin with.

Somewhat ironic eduardo also went in studs up on nani who tried to hurdle it but got caught. Infact eduardo was looking away when he did it.

Still wouldnt wish that upon anyone.
