| They gave sports personality of the year to a pizza?

| It's a joke of a winner every year! They need to change the name to sportsperson because calling it sports personality and then letting the likes of, say, Lennox Lewis, win it is just hilarious.

| Making Money isnt a Sports achievement though really is it? I dont watch F1, but from what I hear he came 2nd in his first year of racing? I concur that is very impressive but hardly worth winning sports personality of the year for. |

| Joe Calzaghe won it and deserved it more than any of the others. Thats all that matters. ![]() Wish I had bet on him though, my dad put £25 on him at 12/1 |

| Never heard of him, but here is the first paragraph from Wikipedia: "Titus Malachi Bramble (born July 21, 1981 in Ipswich, Suffolk) is an English football player, currently playing for Wigan Athletic in the FA Premier League. He has a brother, Tesfaye, who plays professional football, for Stevenage Borough. Bramble qualifies to play for Montserrat through his parents. Bramble is considered by many to be a talented defender, but his reputation has been marred by several calamitous incidents resulting from lapses in concentration, poor positioning, man-marking and communication with teammates, and embarrassing miskicks." |

| Calzaghe doesn't screw up. He is the most flawless boxer Britain has ever had and has broken records for undefeated wins and title defenses. He just doesn't have 'calamitous incidents resulting from lapses in concentration, poor positioning, etc'. I repeat, Joe Calzaghe was the most deserved of that award. |
