So, it looks pretty set in stone that Liverpool today will unveil Fernando Torres as the new boy to bag 20 PL goals next season.

As an avid Pool fan I'm not sure the £25 mill deal is a good one.
He's scoring rate in the Primera Divison has an average of aprox 14 goals a season.
I really cant see he can up this by moving to probably the hardest leauge in the world.

What do you guys recon?
No doubt he is a very good player, but i really dont see him as the "goalmachine" Pool really need.

Torres may be good in the premiership, he may not be good in the premiership, how he adapts is pretty much a lottery.

Ruud adapted, Shevchenko didnt. Wait and see.

however, for liverpool, one things absolutely certain, whether he adapts or not, if they dont buy some decent wingers to provide him service, he still wont be your 20 goal a season man.

Id have bought owen and Wright phillips , cost about 5 mill less for the two I should think.

rafa likes the spaniards though.

Rafa sure do like spaniards, but buying Owen is a huge gamble imo.
With his history of injuries, and the way he left Pool, I really doubt he ever was in Rafas mind.
SWP on the other hand, wouldnt mind seeing him pulling on the red shirt.

Still young too, he's only 23. He's just been around that long that people assume he's older.
