Barry Elliot of Chuckle Brothers fame has sadly passed away. Let's remember all those childhood memories that Chuckle Vision brought us.

Barry Elliot was found passed away yesterday morning by younger brother Paul. The children's telelvison star was suffering a long battle with Laughington's Syndrome and died peacefully in his sleep. Barry, 63, was much-loved by kids and grown-ups alike. "He'll be sorely missed" said Paul, his brother and stage partner. "it's been more than twenty years since we made the first series of Chuckle Brothers, neither of us expected it to last so long. He was a consumate professional in everything he did and I think I speak for everyone at the BBC when I say it's a huge loss for us all"

Barry was currently working with Paul in writing material for a new Chuckle Brothers spin-off show called "Mirth twins in space".

"I'll finish writing the show in his honour" added Paul. "We often joked about how our catchphrase would change if one of us went. I guess now it'll just be "To me...""

British forces have denied rumours that they released a plague of ferocious badgers into the Iraqi city of Basra.

UK military spokesman Major Mike Shearer said: "We can categorically state that we have not released man-eating badgers into the area."
