North Korea being nuclear capable isnt exactly a heartwarming proposition.

HOWEVER

Given that the US, Russia , UK and China all developed nuclear weapons without permission from other countries, I find it difficult to see how the UN can justify trying to stop any country develop anything they wish.

especially given China has a MUCH worse human rights record than Korea.

Tibet, for instance. Unilateral occupation over 40 years ago, systematic genecide of the Tibetans, all goes ignored.

In the UK, the Dali llama, a noble peace prize winner and leader of the Tibetan people, was refused an audience with the queen.

The Chinese ruler, responsible for millions of deaths and suffering, was given a state reception.

Of course, China bailed out the US economy to the tune of 100 billloion dollars in US government bonds, whereas the North koreans have done no such thing.

The way the 2 governments are treated is a ratheri nteresting view on the corruption of world politics really.

in truth, I'm uncomfortable with North Korea having nukes, not only because I dont like nukes in the first place, but due to the fact that ping-ping or whatever the fuck his name is, seems mentaly unstable (no more so than george bush though...).
