The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ (LOTRO) development team, Turbine, and Midway are excited to announce that registrations for the North American Beta Program are now open! This is your chance to play LOTRO for free and experience Middle-earth™ as depicted in J.R.R Tolkien's literary works first hand!

Join the Community!
In order to sign up for the Beta Program, you must first create an account on the LOTRO forums. After completing your forum registration you will automatically be able to submit your application for the Beta Program.

To create a forum account and sign up for the Beta Program, click here. If you already have a forum account, you can sign up for the Beta Program by logging into the LOTRO forums and clicking the Beta Application button in the menu bar.

Please note that players from European countries should sign up for the European Beta Program at Codemasters' LOTRO site.


Sign up Your Guild!
If you're in a guild, be sure to supply your guild's information when signing up for the Beta Program. In some cases we will be inviting groups of players from the same guild, so players who enter their guild information increase their chances of being chosen. If you are not already in a guild, you can always plan a guild for LOTRO, get others to join, and submit that information in the guild section of the Beta application. Be sure that all guild members enter in the same information (type out the entire guild name instead of using the guild's abbreviation) to further increase your chances of getting into the Beta Program.


Special Guild Invitations!
In addition to the above guild benefits, we're also going to be inviting members from the top 100 guilds who sign up the most people as part of a special guild Beta invitation. The top 10 guilds will automatically receive up to 100 Beta invites and the remaining top 90 will get up to 20 invites! This special invitation will be sent sometime after Beta 1.
So whether your guild is large or small, the more guild members who sign up, the better your chances of playing with your guild-mates during the Beta!


Don't wait!
The official start date for the Beta Program will be announced soon, and we will begin sending invitations on a regular basis. We are very excited about this major step in LOTRO's development and look forward to hearing your feedback as you adventure through the world of Middle-earth!

Hope you dont mind fellas but I let onto my WoW guild about this forum, as there are a few looking to get onto LOTR, but our guild aint exactly big enough to be in top 100. So I thought it would benefit anyone here who also signed up, I know I am, even though theres no PvP, just for 10 minutes of something different.
