i know we did this before, but what would be peeps perfectish kind of game, either single player or mmo no preferences

i think mine would be a multi world kinda game similar to swg, with the original profession type system, where you could choose whatever to put your points into, ie no already chosen class etc. with quest systems, and zoning, ie cant go to such a planet too early or you'll be mauled but also each planet has zones, so you start at like a landing area, but cant go too far from it in each world till your the right level. housing another good feature with swg, but i would place as instanced like eq2, but whole cities or guilds more like guild wars,just make it easier for people to either visit or attack, could have like a a whole zone outside your city that you could place defences etc and peeps who were'nt friendly had to fight over to get to the city,turn pvp off, can just come to shop, make the crafting society beneficial to the masses and not make the materials needed so damn stupid its just easier to spend 20 days in an instance :P make the cities/towns instanced so it didnt take up the world server and add to any lag if anyone was raiding said town/city.
also tbh mmos have totally rinsed/repeated/killed the dorf/elf/gnome shit thing so obviously either modern day or futuristic no spells, swords, just guns and whatever else futuristic you can think off,

my 2 cents, can probably think of more, but few ideas for now anyway

I'd like an MMO that's built with the idea being you play it for a fucking laugh. None of this levelling nonsense, none of the "put in 70 hours per week to be ubar!" crap. Either a fully open sandbox world like UO/SWG, with full PvP+consequences thereof; or a proper MMOFPS. I don't think technology can really handle a decent MMOFPS yet, though.

Isnt having a laugh based on you though? I level in games but I have a laugh with the boys too whilst doing it.

We will never get that SWG random hanging around sandbox feel again.

I like to hang around sandboxes but can't anymore thanks to restraining orders.

I'd like an MMO set in a realistic setting such as modern day cities. Every MMO is either fantasy or sci-fi/future. Something like GTA would be cool as an MMO. The play area would be the whole planet Earth and you can visit lots of different countries and several cities in each one. Then they could add countries and cities over time. Of course you'd start off in one country and would have to try and make money some how in order to travel around. The world would be rich in NPCs because there are never enough NPCs in MMOs. You could pick any career you wanted from a big list of realistic jobs so you could end up in the army or whatever or you could just be a crafter of some kind, like you could make shoes then eventually you could have factories making shoes. You could even employ other players to work for you.
I don't know what second life is like or if it's similar to all this but basically second life is wank and this game would be a million times better, would have graphics more up to date than 1997 and would be fun with no fucking room for people trying to make real life cash. Yeah so basically my game idea is just like real life except there's no consequence to risk-taking and you don't need to eat or shit.

I've always wanted a modern day MMO game as well, like a GTA setting.

Second Life is nothing like that. Second Life is just full of islands that people have spent £500 to buy and another £3000 to decorate (RL money as well). And Second Life graphics aren't that bad :P Just users who can't create decent textures for stuff make it look like shit.

I also find myself wanting to play single player games more now, as like Kas said, there's nothing really great to play online now. I'm still on SWG for PvP, and CoD 1 and 4 with a bit of CSS for online FPS. I installed Max Payne 1 and 2 and played them and I had more fun playing them again as I've in a long time playing any online game.

Levelling just seperates people and makes games into work.

It worked whilst MMOs were fresh and new, but now it's just fucking annoying. I want to play a game, not work at a game so I can eventually play it.

Pfft, you mean you don't enjoy paying £40 for a 6 hour singleplayer campaign?!?!?

UO > SWG for sheer sandbox hanging outness, simply because UO's hanging-out was part of the game itself; SWG's hanging-out was just a byproduct of there being no content.

What you're asking for is basically just a linear quest based pre-CU SWG. Not that that is a bad thing, as the current version of SWG has all that. but obviously it has a "slightly" limited choice of template.
