EVE getting locked down by Steam anti-piracy

http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquir...e-gets-steamed

MMO, EVE is bringing its 13 million players to to Valve's Steam anti-piracy system.

The game will be the first MMO to be delivered over the network, a fact which makes publisher Iceland outfit CCO "immensely excited and honored," apparently.

To "celebrate" the launch gamers already signed to Steam's will be able to faff about in the virtual EVE universe for 21-days for free. By which time they'll be hooked, the cunning chaps at Valve have worked out.

I think Steam's gotten pretty stable over the years.

The friends function still pales in comparison to X-fire, though, and the downloads can be a bit shitty when they randomly stop.

Being able to buy games without having to get off your fat arse is pretty awesome though.

10m subscribers, meaning they're still paying. That's all that counts.

5.5m are in Asia though.

This is very strange as EVE, as well as being subscription is a free download anyway? Well odd.
