I been trying to get beta key for some time but still aint got one. Looking thorugh videos on youtube etc.. to get a general jist of the game. Anyone who has played it, can you give me a bit of info on it? like is it a complete wow rip off etc...

I've been in a beta for a few weeks and find it a fun game

It won't blow you away with complexity and neither is it designed to. It's very similar to WoW but the Trait System adds some character difference.

Try http://www.computerandvideogames.com for a beta code as they usually gave away 1000 keys a week.

I got a key through my fileplanet sub, so of course I tried it.

First off it seems similar to WoW, but that's mainly just the quests, there is only so many ways you can word 'kill 10 of mob X'.

If you are into MMO's for PvE and RP then I suggest this is going to be one of the best going, and let's face it, with all graphics on full it looks great, and I haven't had any problems with lag or FPS at all, even in towns.

If you are after PvP however, I'd suggest looking elsewear, they have added a thing called PvMP (Player vs Monster Player). It's sort of liek an arena system, but in a fairly large area, and some players can choose to be 'monsters', becuase there are no evil factions playable, and probably never will be. There are no rewards so far such as armor or weapons that I'm aware of. It's mainly just buffs for your main character.

If you liked stuff liek DDO, then you'll no doubt like LOTRO.

I think myself and my uncle (Lobuu if anyone remembers) are gonna play this until WAR comes out, I've already pre ordered the £170 special version, doubt I'll get it though :P

It did you know. The likes of UO, DAoC, AO and all the other nonsense abbreviations I can't think of, never said anything about 'Go Kill 10 mobs', that is just a conspiracy involving the preparation of gaining the WoW player base. Blizzard secretly control all other MMO companies. Thats why SOE did the CU when WoW was released, to force all of us vets over to WoW. And most of us fell for it, we are pawns to the goverments games.
