What wolfgang said. While technicly all people in the USA are American, so are people in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, etc.


North America and South America are the Americas, hence, anyone who lives on them are Americans. It has just always been an incorect use of the term when it's applied to only North America.

but that being said...i truly have nothing agaist Americans...some distinctly American attitudes are rather boorish but on individual levels i enjoy relating to them
