| Treating myself... I've been sat in this seat for aorund 3 years now (starting my own business), mostly without going out at all! Well business is finally taking off, indeed its starting to boom  so I decided that 3 years without a car was more than enough and have been trying to decide what to buy for a month or so now. I wanted a small hatchback that was cheap to run, insure, tax etc and had narrowed it down to a new Clio Dynamique or a Mini Cooper D.Friday, I placed my order for a new Mini Cooper Chili 1.6D in metallic silver with black roof and bonnet stripes. 4-6 weeks for delivery though  I can't wait! I've never had a brand spanking new car before so this is a real treat.Just thought I'd share

| Aye it's not everyone's cup of tea, for sure. It wouldn't have been mine either, once upon a time. This was my last car:  very different indeed! A vtec powered fucking quick speed demon. I'm actually having a mini  crisis now, I tihnk I might have gone for the wrong colour :| I'm thinking of changing it to Black with black/red interior... ho hum, i hope they let me change it!

| It def makes sense. It produces 104g CO2 per km, which means that it's £35 per annum to Road Tax it and I can (thanks to the gov't) write off the whole value against corporation tax in just 1 year! And, as of October this year I won't have to pay any congestion charge in London lol Top that off with the fact it (theoretically) gets 74mpg!!! and it's a little winner

| my clio is 139g C02 and costs me £120 a year to tax so seems you got the cheaper option ....tho i dare say the mini cost more than the clio hehe.But then ive just noticed u said 1.6D i assume thats a diesel. Also i doubt youll get 74mpg in london . If you do i shall claim you are boris johnson and dont get stuck in traffic........wait a sec.....buisness has just boomed......boris johnson just became mayor...... Torr is Boris Johnson!! |

| Is your clio the dynamique? thats the one i was looking at, but the low co2 and all the perks that go with it swayed me to the mini diesel, even though the clio was cheaper. And aye, no way will i get that mpg doing city driving Next year, my road tax goes down to £20 lol

| nah i went for the ripcurl as i loved the interior and the seats were more comfortable. Tho i dare say the dynamique ones were probably similar i just didnt sit in one, im not sure they had one in the showroom actually. |

| Congrats. Hope you have better luck with yours than I did with my new car. I'd had it for all of 11 days before some twat drove into it and did 3.5k worth of damage. It's been in the garage for the last 4 weeks. 20 quid tax is excellent...I think motorcyclists pay more than that nowadays don't they?
