Company Broadband
Does anyone here get involved in the purchase of company internet.

As part of my budget I have to sort out the schools internet connection, currently we pay £6000 a year for a 8meg connection. I can tell you I was shocked at the cost when I saw these figures but I am told this is standard for schools.

I understand bandwidth wise we devour during peak load times, but surely someone must be aware of an alternative.

Within this 6k we spend we are not allowed outward pointing servers either for off site access, I find it astounding.

Sounds like a hell of a lot, I can find out what my company is paying but I'm pretty sure its nowhere near that.

well my mother's new boyfriend owns a few corperate companies with his own IT solution teams. in term of business corperate size my knowledge is limited but next time i speak to him i can ask for you if you give me some estimate details of your business use requirement and pass it to his IT solution team for ya

Easynet SDSL is good if your area has it, I have about 5 sites using that atm without many issues.....

FYI our spend for a 2MB circuit at out head office is over 10k a year, but it is super high resilient stuf with multiple circuits heading out of the office in opposite directions....

For a bog standard 2MB ADSL connection my company pays just over £200/month.
