you could get a 17inch dell vostro for slightly less with a faster processor and xp (or vista if you preferred)... with 3gb of ram tho + the next buisness day warranty ofc

people slag off dell but tbh weve only really ever had one major problem with one of their laptops (and we have a lot). Plus the one time we have had to use the next buisness day warranty they came straight away and replaced the part.

Ofcourse the uk service could be better than the U.S i dont know....

Has it got a nice graphics card though? That's the main selling point on this one... the bigger brands such as dell and HP charge a lot more for systems with graphics cards

Also I think dell will void your warranties if you uninstall their bloatware

8600m GT i believe it was. Yes dell overcharge on some laptops and systems...however the vostro range is actually priced very well..... Dont get me started on HP laptops......

From the dell site I created a vostro similar to this and it came out to be around $1200 or $1300 (What i would actually expect a system like this to cost tbh, so not bad pricing there as you said)

Maybe your company gets better deals or something?

Anyways I just got a $7.50/hour summer job so I would have to work a month or two to afford one (factoring in drug and alcohol costs ;0)
