I hate people who do that text speak bollox though, is it really too much effort to add vowels? If they are worried about using up letter allocation (which they probably don't as they can't make one sentence), they should maybe get a job and go contract.

When online gaming became a spot like counter-strike, l33tspeak was acceptable, wasn't really taken seriously, more of an insulting way to say you kicked ass, typing asap so you don't get shot. No excuse for texting though, when you're trying to have a legitimate conversation with someone you get: "lol, y bin bzy i pregnt , bf lft me 4 sum bich,gimme txt if wna go out?xx"
