I am on cable so get the full speed... But if it has such bad contention issues, why every time I run speedtest.net I get downloads of over 3.5mb/s - for a 4mb/s line not bad huh.... I have never had performance issues...
From the experience I have the 10mb/s service will handle a piddly 5mb/s service with ease...
As to server side contention, that's what multicasting is for..
