First off , I just wanted to point out, this place gets spammed by so many bots its hard to know a serious post when it comes along, however, I do tend to think this is at least a real person, even though I have no idea why the information would be useful.

- what makes the mmo genre successful?
Variety. Simply put, there is sokething for most gamers in an MMO. PvP , exploration, loot, crafting , and one of the few genres with cooperative play on a large scale.
- What are the typical rules of mmos?
odd question, meaningless I could say.The rules are whatever is in the EULA.
- What multiplayer/network options do mmos offer?
Ive seen filler questions before, but seriously....?
- What do you think will be the future trends of mmo gaming?
Unfortunately mediocre WoW clones.
Until Blizzard do something different with world of starcraft (or Diablo).

Then we will get mediocre world of starcraft/diablo clones.

- What are the Markets & platforms off mmos?
I think this is tied to the previous question.
The obvious new trend is the market. Moving onto the next gen platforms is when the money showers start for whoever gets it right first.
