Sony has a copy protection that installs itself automatically onto your computer, and remains
there, like a malware / etc.
As soon as you put the CD into the player, wham! you're infected, and there is no
easy way to get rid of it. They don't consider it to be a "big" thing, just a resident
program they force into your Win XP / Win2K.
Just think about it.
